Ethereum Layer 2 Scroll DAO said it will propose to dissolve the decentralized Security Committee, and within about 10 days in the future transfer control of the network to accounts managed by its internal team, while laying off some contributors and shrinking the size of the Operations Committee to reduce costs. Scroll said that after evaluation, it found that the costs of the Security Committee do not match actual usage. In early April, Scroll had increased the fees for publishing data to the Ethereum mainnet by about 1,280 times within approximately 6 days, leading users to bear an additional cost of more than $50,000, and the related change was rolled back on April 9.
