Chen Zhi's return to the country in custody footage exposed
On January 8th, footage of Prince Group (太子集团) Chairman Chen Zhi being escorted back to China was released. On January 7th, the Ministry of Public Security of China dispatched a task force that successfully extradited Chen Zhi (a Chinese national) from Phnom Penh, Cambodia. According to investigations, Chen Zhi’s criminal group is suspected of operating casinos, fraud, illegal business activities, and concealing criminal proceeds. Currently, Chen Zhi has been subjected to compulsory measures according to law, and related cases are under further investigation. A relevant official from the Ministry of Public Security stated that the police will soon publicly issue arrest warrants for the first batch of core members of Chen Zhi’s criminal group and will resolutely apprehend fugitives. Chen Zhi, founder of the Cambodian online fraud group “Prince Group,” was born on December 16, 1987, in Lianjiang County, Fuzhou City, Fujian Province, China. He dropped out after completing junior high school and previously worked in internet-related fields in China. In 2011, he went to Cambodia to invest in real estate. In 2014, he obtained Cambodian nationality through investment immigration (later renouncing Chinese nationality). In 2015, he founded Prince Holding Group (Prince Group), which is suspected of operating a large-scale transnational scam gang. In mid-October 2025, the United States and the United Kingdom announced charges against Chen Zhi and confiscated approximately 15 billion USD worth of Bitcoin he held.
