A major whale continues to short BTC for profit, with funding fee earnings reaching $8.77 million.
According to ChainCatcher reports and on-chain analyst Ai Yi (@ai 9684xtpa), a whale trader who has been shorting Bitcoin four consecutive times since March 2025 has once again profited. The trader currently holds a short position of 1,231.98 BTC, worth approximately $124 million, with an entry average price of $111,499.3. Despite adding to their position multiple times between October 24 and 28, their position has returned to profitability as Bitcoin’s price declined on November 3. Notably, the trader has earned over $8.77 million solely from funding fees.
